Milestones

Recent new skills of Maceo's, in no particular order:

1) Walking up stairs one step at a time, provided you hold both hands and he can lean back to a 70 degree angle.
2) Waving bye bye while sounding like a European ambulance--"Anh Unh, Anh Unh."
3) Raising the roof.
4) Climbing down the ladder at the pool (maximum of one rung--the top one).
5) Climbing all the way into his high chair.
6) Climbing up onto sofas and chairs.
7) Climbing onto his stroller (but not into it) and then doing violent squats to get it to move around.
8) Finding my computer's mouse when I don't think to put it out of reach and bringing it to me.
9) Identifying busses's motors immediately and then looking around to find them.
10) At bed time, if, during reading time, Kate asks him if he's ready to go to sleep, immediately turning and cuddling right up.

PS-- And he likes sticks all of a sudden. Here he is exploring treasure in the playground across from our street after a recent violent storm.

  1. I got him to climb down stairs holding just one hand; he puts the other on the bannister. The concept of sliding the hand down the bannister is a bit iffy. So he sometimes winds up with his left hand way up at the top of the stairs while he is two steps down. This in turn can cause him to turn around to face UP the stairs. All in all, going down the stairs this way can take quite a while. But I figure, well, if he's going to go to college, he's gonna have to learn how to do this at some point.
